Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection
Renix Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBFI), Early Type System
1.
Disconnect wire harness connector from CTS.
2.
Using a suitable high input impedance digital volt-ohmmeter, measure sensor resistance.
3.
Resistance should be between 300 ohms and 300k ohms (10k ohms at room temperature.
4.
If resistance of CTS is not within specifications, replace.
5.
Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ECU connector terminal J2-11 and sensor connector terminal, then between ECU connector terminal
J2-14 and sensor connector terminal.
6.
If an open circuit is indicated, repair the wire harness as necessary.
