A/T Fluid Replacement
Automatic Transmission Fluid
REPLACEMENT
Lift-up the vehicle.
Drain the ATF completely.
Check the ATF for condition.
Important: Directly after the engine has been running, the ATF is hot. Be careful not to burn yourself.
Replace with a new gasket, and then tighten the ATF drain plug.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm (2.5 kgf-m, 18.1 ft. lbs.)
(A) Oil pan
(B) Drain plug (ATF)
(C) Differential gear oil drain plug
Lower the vehicle.
Pour ATF into the oil charge pipe.
Recommended fluid: Dexron III type automatic transmission fluid
Capacity: fill the same amount of ATF drained from drain plug hole.
Capacity when transmission is overhauled: 9.3 - 9.6 litres (9.8 - 10.1 US quarts, 8.2 - 8.4 Imp quarts)
Check the level and leaks of ATF.
Condition Check
Note: When replacing ATF, check the inside condition of the transmission body by inspecting the drained ATF.
