Grounding Points

General

There are two main types of grounding points in the car: those that are equipped with a component number, and those where the component is grounded
directly on to the chassis (e.g., temperature sensors, oil pressure sensors, etc.).

This section deals with grounding points that have a component number.

The grounding points to which a component is connected can differ depending on whether the car is a left-hand or right-hand drive model. This can be
seen in the system diagrams.

Cables are sometimes collected in a crimp connection immediately before a grounding point. These connections will be found in the list of grounding
points.

The car battery is grounded via two cables. One cable has a cross sectional area of 25 sq.mm and is connected directly to the LH engine mounting
(grounding point G25).

The other has a cross sectional area of 16 sq.mm and is connected to grounding point G2, which is located on the side of the LH structural member by
the connector bracket.

The following connections between the grounding points are not are not shown on the circuit diagrams:

1. There is a redundant ground between the engine/gearbox and one of the wheel housings.
2. Grounding point G30A is connected to grounding point G30B via crimp J1, the engine bay main fuse box 342 and crimp J2.
3. Grounding point G3 is connected to grounding point G29 via the luggage compartment main fuse box 701.
4. Grounding point G34S is connected to grounding point G43 via crimps J108 and J80
