Battery Disconnector (700)

Main task

The battery disconnector cuts off voltage from components of the front engine harness, i.e. generator, starter motor and the front relay and fuse box relay,
in the event of a head-on collision. The battery disconnector cuts off current in the areas of high temperatures and high currents.

Type

The battery disconnector is an electromagnetic switch with limited electronics which is connected to the airbag control module and is part of the front
impact protection.

A yellow button (1) can be pressed in order to reset the disconnector. A window (2) uses the colour red to indicate whether the battery disconnector has
been activated.
