Background
The rubber bushing on the gear cable at the gearbox may transfer noise from the gearbox.
The noise changes if the gear lever is moved sideways.
In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.
Symptom description
Whining noise when driving in 3rd gear at 50-70 km/h, which changes if the gear lever is moved sideways.

Procedure
Replace the gear cable. See WIS - 9-3 (9440) - 4. Power transmission - Manual gearbox - 6- speed - Adjustment/Replacement - Gear cable.
