Creaks and rattles from the door trim

Background

When driving in certain weather conditions creaks and rattles may be heard from the door trims. The noise is due to the edge of the door trim touching
the door panel.

In the case of customer complaint, proceed as follows.

Symptom description

Creaks and rattles from the door trim.

Parts required

32 000 492 Felt tape, sufficient for approx. 70 doors

Procedure

In the case of customer complaint over a front door, then both front door trims must be rectified, see procedure A. In the case of customer complaint over
a rear door, then both rear door trims must be rectified, see procedure B.

A Front door

1.

Remove the door trim in accordance with WIS - 9-3 (9440) - Body - Interior equipment - Adjustment/Replacement - Door trim, front, 4D.

2.

Fit the felt tape on the door trim in accordance with the illustration.
