Background

Plastic components in the backrest release mechanism can break when subjected to excess loading. The reason may be that the cable is incorrectly
adjusted or the backrest is subjected to excess loading in the forward direction while the handle is lifted. The back of the seat cannot then be folded
forward when the release handle is lifted.

In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

Symptom description

The back of the seat cannot be folded forward

Parts required

Power seat

12 802 556 Cable, left-hand seat
12 802 557 Cable, right-hand seat

Manual seat:

12 802 558 Cable, left-hand seat
12 802 559 Cable, right-hand seat

Procedure

Both seats must be rectified.

1.

Remove the backrest upholstery in accordance with WIS - Body - Seats - Adjustment/Replacement - Backrest upholstery, front seat, CV.

2.

Remove the connector from the microswitch.
