9-3 Arc/Aero (9440) L4-2.0L Turbo (2.0 T) (2004)
Main function
The stepping motor is connected via a linkage to damper for the floor vent, which is used for both climate zones.
Type
The unipolar stepping motor consists of a rotor (10 poles) and four stator windings. A gearbox transfers the power from the rotor to the lever which
controls the damper.
Connection
The four stepping motor windings receive a common B+ feed from ACC unit pin 40 (K2).
The ACC unit grounds each winding (pin 9, 29, 8 and 28 in K2) in a specific order thus operating the motor in short pulses, which explains the name
stepping motor. The rotational direction can be changed.
