The ignition switch unit's centre spring plate can, in isolated cases, jam in the lower position. If the plate jams in the lower position when the key has
been taken from the ignition switch the radio is not switched off and the remote control does not work.
Parts required
For replacement of ignition switch (estimated defective production issue 2%):

Procedure
1.
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Note
Keep the key as close as possible to the ignition switch to avoid diagnostic trouble codes being generated in the CIM.
2.
Push a finger into the ignition switch and press down the spring plate in the centre of the ignition switch.
3.
Feel to check that the plate is easy to press down and that it springs back without jamming.
4.
If the plate jams or binds, replace the ignition switch in accordance with WIS - Group 3. Electrical System - Theft protection -
Adjustment/Replacement - Ignition switch unit.
