Convertible Top Hydraulic Control Unit: Procedures

Hydraulic Unit

Removing

1

Raise (close) the soft top to a position with the soft top cover raised and the fifth bow lowered (horizontal).

Fold forward the rear backrest.

Remove the cover over the hydraulic unit.

Remove the hydraulic unit retaining bolts.

Lift up the hydraulic unit. Check the oil level in the oil reservoir.

IMPORTANT

Lift up the hydraulic unit carefully so that the hydraulic hoses are not damaged.

Lay out paper under the hydraulic unit to catch any oil spills.

Unplug the connectors.

Mark the hoses and remove the retaining bolts by the hose connections.

Remove the cable ties holding the hoses.
Lift out the hydraulic unit.

Fitting

Check the hose markings and connect the hoses to the pump and tighten the bolts.

Fit the cable ties.

Plug in the connectors.

4

Fill oil in the reservoir.
Use oil part No. (16) 30 32 356.
