The lamp is located in the main instrument unit and is powered from +15. The lamp is controlled from control module pin 55 and is tested for 3 seconds
when the ignition is turned on.
While the car is being driven, this lamp will go on for a combination of light engine load and high engine speed. This will not apply in 5th gear. When
engine speed approaches 6000 rpm the lamp will go on irrespective of the engine load.
The control module calculates the gear position based on engine speed and vehicle speed.
Diagnosis

There is no diagnosis for the electric circuit to the lamp.
The lamp is tested for 3 seconds when the ignition is turned on.
