To remove

Remove the front seat from the car. See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat/Front Seat

Manual front seat. Remove the handle for height adjustment and the knob for backrest rake adjustment. Use a screwdriver.

NOTE:  When removing the knob, note that the backrest recline spindle may be removed with the knob.

Remove the seat side panel, 2 caps and 3 screws. Lift the back of the side panel and pull it forwards.

Electrically adjustable front seat. Unplug the connector from the switch unit and remove the memory buttons, if any.

Where necessary, remove the seat belt mounting.

5D: Remove the plastic covers on each side of the backrest joint.

NOTE:  The plastic covers conceal the holes for access to the screws holding the seat at the rear.
