Hood Latch: Service and Repair
Bonnet-Release Cable and Release Lever

To remove

NOTE:  To facilitate the installation of a new bonnet-release cable, it is suitable to route a new cable by means of the old cable when it removed.

Open the bonnet and remove the mount for the bonnet-release cable by removing the clamp.

NOTE:  To open the bonnet in an emergency, use special tool part no.8292963.

Remove the bonnet-release cable from the bonnet lock by first removing the bonnet lock spring from its attachment and then removing the cable
from the spring lock.

Remove the bonnet-release cable from the radiator member by the bulkhead.

Open the door on the driver's side.

Remove the DICE module, located under the knee guard on the driver's side, proceed as follows:

Lift away the cover from the fuse holder.

Remove the lower section of the instrument panel by the driver's side.

Remove the floor air duct, fastened with a screw at the bottom of the fuse holder.

Remove the DICE module as well as the relay holder by removing the plastic nut securing the relay holder console and the two relay holder
retaining screws.

Remove the two fuse holder retainer bolts and bend it to the side.
