Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness.
Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Check whether the TCM can be contacted on another Saab 9-3 using the same diagnostic tool.

Is the function correct?

NO

YES -

Repair the diagnostic tool or change it, if necessary.

Connect test lamp 86 11 857 between female connector pin 1 and pin 31.
