Coil Spring (Contact Roller)

If the work calls for the removal of the coil spring (contact roller) it is important to ensure that it is in its middle position when the
steering wheel is replaced.

1. Ignition switch in the OFF position.

2. Set the steering wheel in the position at which the road wheels are straight ahead.
3. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel, 2 screws and plugs.
4. Lift out the steering-wheel airbag and undo the connections on the back of it.

IMPORTANT:  Since the steering wheel separates very suddenly from the taper there is a risk that the coil spring and leads may get
caught on the steering wheel and suffer damage.
