To fit

1. Insert the gear lever and ball socket in the gear lever housing. The O-ring should be between the ball socket and the housing.
2. Insert the screw holding the selector rod to the gear lever. Turn the rod so that the holes for the locking pin are face up.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

3. Insert the deflection limiter.
4. Insert the lock plate. Check that the lock plate's 2 bearings (rubber bush and dome) in the housing are in place.
5. Snap the ignition switch pawl into the lock plate.
6. Position the lock plate holder. Loctite 242 must be applied to the bolts used to fasten the lock plate holder.
7. Fit the lock plate spring.

8. Adjust the position of the lock plate with the screw on the lock plate holder so that it is level with the lug in the gear lever housing.

IMPORTANT:  The deflection limiter must not be in contact with the lock plate during adjustment.

9. Fit the complete Gear Lever Housing and Selector Rod, Shift Linkage, M/T, Service and Repair.
