For US/CA: VIN starts at X2000001 and X7000001 (CONV) respectively.
Other markets: VIN starts at X2020001 and X7020002 (CONV) respectively.
As the electrical system differs from VIN X2020001 (X7020001), there are two wiring diagrams for each system. They are marked up to
X2020000 and from X2020001 respectively and where applicable for wiring diagrams specific to convertible models, up to X7020000 and from
X7020001 respectively.
DATE MARKING OF WIRING DIAGRAMS
All wiring diagrams, both in WIS and in manuals, are marked at the bottom, e.g.:
DE08198
980418
where the top row is the file name and the bottom one is the date on which the diagram was compiled. The date is given in the form YYMMDD.
Always use the latest wiring diagram.

The wiring diagrams are divided into different system groups. The division in this manual has been adapted to the division that applies in other
manuals and in WIS:

The wiring diagrams within the groups in each service category are arranged in ascending order.
For example, the first wiring diagram in the group Engine is "Trionic Engine Management System" and the last one is "Radiator fan".

Symbols Used In the Wiring Diagrams
The wiring diagrams are compiled with the following preconditions:

Unless otherwise indicated, switches and relays are represented in their inactivated and unenergized state.

No key in the ignition

Central locking system unlocked

Coolant, brake and washer fluids full

Gear lever/gear selector in neutral

Switches off

Parking brake released
