Cross-sectional Area
The cross-sectional area of the conductor is specified in square mm and determines the current that the cable is capable of carrying.

This service manual covers the electrical system for SAAB 9-3, model year 1999.

CAUTION - ARCING MAY CAUSE BURN INJURIES
Although the system voltage is only 12V, injuries may be caused by flash-over or fire in the car due to the very high energy content of
the battery. A short-circuit could create extremely high currents!

The electronic ignition system generates voltages higher than 48,000 V. Such voltages may be fatal to persons with a weak heart and
those who have a pacemaker. Treat the entire ignition system with great respect.

Before disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery, make sure the customer has the radio code
