Temperature Sensor (Gauge): Service and Repair
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
To remove
WARNING
Be careful if the engine is hot. The coolant is very hot and it is also easy to get burnt on the exhaust manifold.

Open the expansion tank filler cap and release the pressure. Screw the cap back on.

Unplug the temperature sensor's connector.

Remove the temperature sensor.
To fit

Fit the temperature sensor, grease the threads with Molycote 1000 or the equivalent.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 lbf ft)

Plug in the connector.

Top up the coolant and check the system for leaks.
