Engine Oil: Testing and Inspection
Check Oil Level, Leaks, Top Up As Necessary

Check oil level, leaks, top up as necessary 
Oil level, engine 

Check the level while the engine is still warm, 2-5 minutes after switching off.
Top up with oil to the MAXIMUM mark on the dipstick. The distance between the MAXIMUM and MIN marks corresponds to 1 litre (1.05 quarts).

Fluid level, automatic transmission 

Warning:  Keep the brake pedal depressed. 

Apply the handbrake. Start the engine and run it at idling speed. Select D and wait at least 15 seconds. Then select R and wait another 15 seconds.
Repeat in position P.
Check the fluid level (engine running at idling speed and selector lever in P). Top up as necessary.

Important:  The dipstick has two sets of level marks, one set for hot oil and one for cold oil. The amount of fluid between the maximum and
minimum marks is about 0.4 litres (0.4 quarts).
