All Saab 9-5 models have remote control. On delivery, 2 remote control units are supplied for each car. They are used to control the central locking, as a
back-up for the immobilizer and to arm/disarm the anti-theft alarm.

There are three models of remote control with different frequencies and ranges.

The remote control is also available with an integrated key. However only the variant with a separate key is shown in the technical description.

Function

Point the remote control towards the car. When a button is pressed, the remote control sends a control signal which is received by the remote control
receiver unit. The range is approx. 8 meters.

The signal from the remote control is a fixed identification code (each remote control has its own code) and a "rolling code" which changed each time a
