Control functions

The main unit contains control buttons for the system. Some buttons are specific to each respective unit whereas others are general controls.

IMPORTANT

This Service Manual does not cover the normal operation of the audio system. Detailed information on its operation is given in the Owner's Manual.

Audio System

General

The audio system consists of the central main unit and several external units, and interacts with other systems in the car.

Activation

The audio system is turned on/off by pressing the volume control knob. When switched on, the system starts with the last settings that were active.

The system can be activated irrespective of the position of the ignition switch, even if the key has been removed (+B information goes via the bus).

If the ignition is turned OFF and the key remains in the lock, the audio system will automatically stop one hour after the button was last activated. This
applies even if the audio system is turned on when the key is not in the ignition
