Coil Spring (Contact Roller)

WARNING: Read through carefully before starting work.

To remove

1. Ignition switch in the OFF position.
2. Turn the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.
3. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel, 2 screws and plugs.
4. Fit the upper and lower steering column cowls, 3 screws.

Adjust the center position of the coil spring (contact roller), as follows:
4.a. Make sure the wheels are pointing straight ahead.
4.b. Turn the coil spring (contact roller) clockwise until stiff resistance is encountered.
4.c. Turn the coil spring (contact roller) back 2 complete turns, and then a little more until the electric leads are pointing straight up.

NOTE: The center position does not require being set if a new contact roller is fitted. The roller is supplied in centerd position, secured with
