Shock Sensor: Description and Operation
Glass Breakage Sensor - Wagon
Glass Breakage Sensor (5D)
General
The glass breakage sensors are acoustically sensitive (microphone type) and detect whether a car window has been broken. The front sensor (main
sensor) is integrated in the centre ceiling lamp and is connected to TWICE on the following pins:
Voltage +12V
pin no. 10
Ground
pin no. 57
Signal
pin no. 58
The rear sensor (slave sensor) is integrated in the luggage compartment ceiling lamp and is connected to TWICE via the front sensor contact 2 on the
following pins:
Voltage +12V
pin 2
Ground
pin 3
Signal
pin 1
Function
When the anti-theft alarm is armed, the glass breakage sensor is activated by a +12 V supply from control module pin 2.
If a window is broken, the sensor will detect the noise, process the information and decide whether the alarm should be set off or not. If the alarm is to be
set off, pin 58 on TWICE will be grounded via pin 1 on the sensor.
Once the car key has been removed from the ignition switch, the glass breakage sensor can be manually disconnected with the NIGHT PANEL button on
SID. Information that it has been disconnected is sent on the bus and is read by TWICE, which deactivates the sensor.
