A passenger airbag is available as a factory-fitted option. On certain markets, cars are equipped as standard with a passenger airbag. The airbag is
mounted in the dashboard above the glove box on the passenger side and is connected to the control module as shown below and under Control module
connections, Airbag LHD and Airbag RHD.
The cable carries test and detonation current from the SRS control module to the passenger airbag.
The passenger airbag, which has a volume of about 101 litres, incorporates a gas generator. The gas generator is bolted to the airbag housing, which is
bolted to the dashboard. The airbag is held in place by a film with fracture lines. The dashboard has corresponding fracture lines.
