When the selector is set to 0 for automatic operation the interior lighting works as follows:

If the drivers door is unlocked, by key or remote control. The interior lighting remains on for 30 seconds if the ignition switch is set to LOCK and
the key is taken out.

If one or more doors is/are open when the ignition switch is set to LOCK, the interior lighting remains on for 20 minutes, after which it is switched
off automatically.

If one or more doors is/are opened when the ignition switch is set to ON (+15 and +54), the interior lighting will be on until all doors have been
closed.

If all doors are closed, the interior lighting remains on for 30 seconds if it was already on before the doors were closed (position 0 or 1).
Otherwise, the interior lighting will remain off.

If the ignition switch is turned to ON (+15 and +54) while the interior lighting is on, the lights will at once be switched off. The same applies if the
car is locked by remote control or with the key.

When the car key is removed from the ignition the interior lighting will go on for 30 seconds. The light will fade in (brightness increases) during
the first 2 seconds.

Diagnosis

The output is provided with overload protection which shuts it off in the event of an excessive load. When this occurs, diagnostic trouble code B1215
will be generated.
DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11 V, or during diagnostic communication, or in case of interruption.

NOTE: Should a fault occur in the interior lighting, diagnostic trouble code B1220 may be generated (instead of the normal B1215), since the roof
lighting (50F) is not electrically isolated from the reading and mirror lights.
