Connect Tech 2 to the car's data link connector. Turn the ignition ON.

Select "(FO): Diagnostics" from the main menu.

Select "Model Year" and "Vehicle type".

Select "Engine" from the menu.

Select "Trionic".

Select "Date of Manufacture".

If the control module is manufactured on December 6, 1999 (1999, day 340) or later, no action need be taken.

If the control module is manufactured before December 6, 1999 (1999, day 340), change the control module.

(Example: Year 1999, day 001 = January 1, 1999. Year 1999, day 365 = December 31, 1999).

Turn the ignition OFF.

Programming the immobilizer code

Connect Tech 2 to the car's data link connector. Turn the ignition ON.

Select "(FO): Diagnostics" from the main menu.

Select "Model Year" and "Vehicle Type".

Select "(F2): Body" from the menu.

Select "TWICE" (Theft Warning Central Electronics).

Start programming of the immobilizer by selecting "Immobilization" (F2) from the menu.

Follow the instructions on Tech 2. The procedure is complete when the message "Immobilizer code programmed" is displayed.

Erase any diagnostic trouble codes. Fuse 17 may need to be removed and refitted for communication with Tech 2 to be possible.

Checking and resetting

Switch off Tech 2 and turn the ignition OFF.

Start the engine.

If the engine does not start, turn off the ignition and then remove and refit fuse 17.
