Start the engine. Depress the accelerator and then check if any new diagnostic trouble codes have been generated. Rectify and erase any diagnostic
trouble codes.

Turn the ignition OFF and wait 10 seconds. Check that the throttle is not in limp-home mode as follows:

a

4-cyl.: Remove the upper engine cover.

b

4-cyl.: Remove the cover from the throttle body.

Turn the pedal arm clockwise. The top illustration shows 4-cyl and the bottom V6.

Check that the throttle arm does not make the reciprocal movement when the pedal arm is turned.

To reset limp-home mode, if necessary see WIS - Engine - Trionic T7 - Adjustment/replacement - Resetting triggered limp-home solenoid.

f

4-cyl.: Fit the cover over the throttle body and the upper engine cover.

Marking the campaign plate

After the car has been inspected and/or modified mark the campaign plate in box C4, using a numeral "8" (Saab Special Tool P/N 02 97 713). If needed,
order this special tool directly from Kent-Moore at 1-800-345-2233.
