Air Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection
Checking the charge air bypass valve

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the charge air bypass valve.

Connect the pressure/vacuum pump, tool no. 30 14 883, and create a vacuum in the valve.

Check that the diaphragm is intact. If the diaphragm is damaged, no vacuum can be created.

Repeat points 2 and 3 but pump up a pressure.

Disconnect the pump.

Connect the vacuum hose.
