Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair

To Remove

1. Remove the selector lever housing, See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair

IMPORTANT:  The selector lever housing must be protected with foam rubber or similar when being worked on when dismantle

2. Snip the cable ties.
3. Extract the pins for the electromagnet from the connector, pins 5, 6 and 2. Use removal tool 85 80 151.

NOTE:  Note the position of the 3 pins in the connector.

4. Drill out the rivets that join the upper and lower part of the selector housing with a three millimeter drill bit.

5. Separate the upper and lower parts of the selector lever housing and remove the screws by the electromagnetic'
6. Remove the lever from the top of the electromagnet and remove the electromagnet.
