1. Connect the drive shaft to the hub and loosely fit the nut.
2. Left side:

IMPORTANT:  Always change the shaft seal in the gearbox. Lubricate with transmission fluid.

Fit protective collar 83 95162 (protective collar) into the sealing ring.

3. Left side:

Make sure that the drive shaft is clean and then align it with the tool.

IMPORTANT:  Fit the drive shaft in the gearbox until about 20 mm remains and extract the tool before the shaft's sealing surface reaches the
shaft seal.

4. Left side:

Push in the rest of the shaft until the circlip clicks in.

5. Right side:

Tilt out the MacPherson strut and attach the drive shaft to the intermediate shaft until the circlip snaps in place. Lubricate the splines with
universal paste 87 81 684, see

6. Fit the ball joint to the steering swivel member and tighten it.

Tightening torque 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) 

WARNING:  Make sure the steering swivel pin is visible above the steering swivel member before fitting the bolt. 

7. Secure the brake hose in the mounting on the steering swivel member and fit the clips as well as the two fasteners for the ABS cable.
8. Remove the hub cap from wheels with aluminum rims.
9. Fit the wheel.

10. Tighten the hub center-nut. Always use a new nut

Tightening torque: 170 Nm + 45° (123 ft. lbs. + 45°)
