Pipes, Hoses and O-Rings

Pipes and hoses

The A/C system's pipes and hoses must withstand high temperatures and pressures. They must also fulfill demands on leakage and diffusion in hoses, i.e.
leaks through the hose material. Therefore, only pipes and hoses especially manufactured for A/C systems may be used.

The meet with these demands, the hoses have an EPDM rubber exterior and are lined with butyl rubber. Heat protection is also fitted on certain exposed
parts of the hoses.

O-rings

O-rings are manufactured in a special type of chloroprene rubber (neoprene). They must be lubricated with synthetic vaseline before being fitted to the
A/C system. Always use new O-rings when fitting A/C components.
