Brake Fluid: Service and Repair
1. Empty the brake fluid reservoir, using brake system bleeder unit 88 19 096.
2. Fill up with fresh brake fluid.
3. Connect the filler funnel (supplied with brake system bleeder kit 88 19 96) to the brake fluid reservoir
4. Place one end of a hose in the filler funnel and the other end in a bottle filled with fresh brake fluid.
5. Raise the car. Connect the brake bleeder hose to the LH front wheel and open the nipple.
6. Drain the brake fluid until fresh fluid emerges. Tighten the nipple and fit the rubber plug.
7. Repeat this process on the other wheels in the following order:

right-hand rear wheel
-
right-hand front wheel
-
left-hand rear wheel
8. Lower the car to the floor and remove the rubber funnel, hose and bottle.
9. Adjust the amount of brake fluid in the reservoir.
10. Check the operation of the brakes. Depress the brake pedal and check that it does not feel spongy or go all the way down to the floor.
