Cabin Air Filter: Description and Operation

Fresh-Air Filter

The filter is located in the climate housing before the evaporator. Fibres in the filter stop larger particles but to trap the really small ones the filter is
electrostatically charged. Thanks to this electrostatic charge, the filter attracts particles just as a magnet attracts iron filings.

Besides removing visible particles, the filter also removes pollen, spores, different types of dust, etc. from the cabin air.

Carbon filter

The carbon filter is available as an optional extra and is fitted in the direction of flow after the standard air filter. It reduces diesel exhaust fumed, etc.

The carbon filter can also be fitted after delivery.
