Brake fluid reservoir

The brake fluid reservoir is divided into three chambers:
1. one chamber for the left-hand front wheel and right-hand rear wheel (primary circuit)
2. one chamber for the right-hand front wheel and left-hand rear wheel (secondary circuit)
3. one chamber for the clutch cylinder on cars with a manual gearbox.

A level switch is built into the brake fluid reservoir filler cap (built into the reservoir on RHD cars).

This switch consists of a float and two contacts. When the float sinks because of a low brake fluid level, the contacts close and the brake fluid warning
lamp on the dashboard lights up (this happens when the reservoir is about two-thirds full). The lamp is supplied with current in the main instrument
display panel and grounded via the level contact when the fluid level is low. When the ignition is switched on, the lamp is grounded for 3 seconds by
the main instrument display panel as a check. If the brake fluid level is correct, the lamp will go out after 3 seconds.
