7. Remove the clip securing the relay box wiring harness on the battery holder.
8. Lift the expansion tank. Pull the lower hose through the wiring harness.
9. Clamp the hoses connected to the expansion tank using pinch-off pliers.

10. Tilt the expansion tank forwards and drain the coolant into a suitable receptacle.
11. Undo the hose clips on the hoses.
12. Lift out the expansion tank.

To fit

NOTE:  Spray the connector with Kontakt 61, part no. 30 04 520.

1. Fit in reverse order.
2. Fill with coolant.
3. Start the engine and run it with the heater controls on full.
4. Check the coolant level and freezing point. If necessary, top up with more coolant.
5. Raise the car.
