Sound Insulation, Luggage Compartment

Cars affected

Saab 9-5 up to and including chassis number W3052940. Refer also to the specification of chassis number intervals under the relevant procedure.

Background

New sound insulation between the inner and outer plates on the left and right sides of the luggage compartment has been developed as a quality
improvement. The new sound insulation is enclosed in plastic.
On certain cars, the sound insulation on the right-hand side is missing completely, resulting in excessive road noise.

Parts required

50 31 455 Sound insulation, LH (1 pc.)
50 32 727 Sound insulation, RH (1 pc.)
46 02 785 Sound absorbent, RH (1 pc.), required on certain cars only

Procedure, right-hand side

On cars with a chassis number up to and including W3052940, any existing sound insulation which is not enclosed in plastic must be changed. If there is
no sound insulation, new sound insulation must be fitted.
