Floor Console Bracket Replacement

Floor Console Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Remove the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement  (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic

Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement).

3. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement  (See: Console Replacement).
4. Disconnect the automatic transmission range selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement  (See: Transmission and

Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Service and Repair/Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement).

5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic transmission shift interlock solenoid.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake.
7. Remove the console bracket from the vehicle, by removing the retaining nuts (1) from the center instrument panel (I/P) bracket. 
8. Remove the forward retaining screw, if equipped.
9. Remove the remaining fasteners from the console bracket.

10. Remove the console bracket from the vehicle.
11. Remove the floor shift control. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement  (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic

Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Transmission Control Replacement).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the floor shift control. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement  (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic

Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Transmission Control Replacement).

2. Install the console bracket to the vehicle.
3. Loosely install all the fasteners that retain the console bracket to the vehicle.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the retaining nuts (1) to the center I/P bracket.

Tighten nuts to 10 Nm (88 in. lbs.).

5. Install the remaining fasteners that retain the console bracket to the vehicle.

Tighten the nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

6. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake.
7. Connect the electrical connector to the automatic transmission shift interlock solenoid.
8. Connect the automatic transmission range selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement  (See: Transmission and

Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Service and Repair/Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement).
