Rear Brake Caliper Replacement

Rear Brake Caliper Replacement
Caution:  Refer to Brake Dust Caution  (See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Brake Dust Caution).
Caution:  Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution  (See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Brake Fluid Irritant Caution).

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle  (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation  (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair

).

3. Remove the rear brake hose fitting bolt from the rear brake caliper.
4. Cap the brake hose fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Important:  Discard the copper gaskets. DO NOT reuse the copper, replace them.

5. Remove the copper gaskets from the brake hose fitting bolt.

6. Remove the rear brake caliper guide pin bolts.

7. Remove the rear brake caliper from the brake caliper bracket.
