Condition
Some customers may comment on a delayed windshield washer fluid spray with the wipers going through a few cycles before liquid is squirted through
the washer nozzles.
Cause
The windshield washer pump may lose pump prime when the washer fluid level is approximately 1/3 or less in the windshield washer container.
Correction
Technicians are to install a windshield washer check valve in place of the barbed fitting at the front windshield washer hose following the steps below:
Open the hood.
Locate the front windshield washer hose at the plastic barbed fitting (1) by the radiator surge tank along the right front fender.
Remove the front windshield washer hose from the radiator surge tank retainer.
