Mobile Telephone Microphone Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and
Repair/Roof Console Replacement).
2. Disconnect the microphone electrical connector to the OnStar(R) microphone (1).
3. If only the microphone removal is required, disengage the quick release tab (1) and remove the OnStar(R) microphone from the overhead console.
4. If removing the mounting bracket is required, remove the 2 retaining screws to the OnStar(R) microphone and remove the bracket from the
overhead console.
Installation Procedure
1. If installation of the mounting bracket is required, install the mounting bracket to the overhead console.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Install the 2 OnStar(R) microphone retaining screws.
Tighten the screws to 0.8 Nm (7 in. lbs.).
3. Install the microphone to the mounting bracket ensuring the quick release tab (1) is fully seated.
