Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Frame/Skid Plate/Service and
Repair/Engine Protection Shield Replacement).
4. Remove the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement (See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension
Strut / Shock Absorber/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement).
5. Remove the left side wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and
Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair).
6. Remove the front differential carrier. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (V8) (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Differential
Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Drive Axle/Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (V8)).
7. Remove the lower engine mount retaining nuts from the engine mount frame bracket.
