Ignition - Intermittent Key Stuck In Ignition Switch
Bulletin No.: 06-08-49-003
Date: February 09, 2006
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Intermittent Key Stuck in Ignition (Check for Proper Terminal Contact at Ignition Switch Connector)
Models:
2005-2006 Saab 9-7X
Condition
Some customers may comment that the key is stuck in the ignition switch. This condition may be intermittent.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be due to a poor connection between the male and female terminals at the ignition switch connector. Wiggling the
connector or wiring may duplicate the customer's concern or allow the key to be removed.
Correction
Remove the ignition switch following published Service Information - Ignition Switch Replacement. Check the ignition lock cylinder control actuator
signal circuit no. 1996 (yellow wire) for proper terminal contact. If the terminal contact is suspect, replace the female terminal using P/N 15445905.
Tip:
To test the retention force of the suspect female terminal, an equivalent male terminal, P/N 15355486, can be used.
Parts Information
To obtain the terminals, contact Kent-Moore at 1-800-GM-TOOLS.
