Transfer Case Actuator: Service and Repair

Transfer Case Motor/Encoder Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle  (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the fuel tank shield, if equipped. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement  (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air

Induction/Fuel Tank/Fuel Tank Shield/Service and Repair).

3. Disconnect the motor/encoder electrical connector (1).

4. Remove the motor/encoder mounting bolts.

5. Remove the motor/encoder assembly.
