Hall Effect Sensor: Description and Operation
The Hall effect switch consists of a magnet and a semi-conductor element. The slotted rotor alternately blocks the semi-conductor from the influence
of the magnetic field, and then opens the semi-conductor to the effects of the magnetic field, thereby determining the timing of the ignition spark.
The Hall effect switch and the slotted rotor cannot be disassembled. If it is determined that they are defective, the entire distributor assembly must be
replaced.
