Engine Performance - Revised Base Idle Speed Adjustment

FILE IN. S.I. Man

VOL. I

SEC. A-2

PG. 194

Service Information

SUBJECT:

ADJUSTING BASE IDLE SPEED,                            ISSUE: 02/86-822 PROCEDURE CHANGE

APPLICATION: MB6-, 900S & TURBO WITH 16-Valve and AUTOMATIC IDLE CONTROL (AIC)

From Engine Serial No. G017750, the idle adjusting screw has been eliminated from the throttle housing. The hole has been blocked off with an allen
screw.

Beginning with these vehicles, the idle speed must now be adjusted by utilizing the throttle stop screw.

NOTE:

The system is pre-set at the factory and need not be normally adjusted throughout the service life of the car. However, adjustment may be
necessary if engine service work is performed or fuel system components are replaced.
