Remove upper shock absorber retaining nuts, Fig. 3. Suspension travel is limited by a stop built into the shock absorber. Therefore, the
shock absorber must be removed prior to raising the vehicle, or by using a suitable jack to lift the outer end of the control arm.

Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheel.
3.
Install spring compressor 8995839 or equivalent on the lower spring cup and second free coil from top of spring. Ensure that compressor is
properly seated prior to compressing spring.
4.
Compress spring to obtain 1-1/2 inches of clearance at the upper coil, then remove spring.
5.
Remove spacers and upper cone, noting position for reassembly.
6.
Reverse procedure to install.
