Gear Lever For 4-Speed Gearbox

TO REMOVE
1. Remove the gear lever from the gear lever housing by removing the three bolts under the gaiter.
2. Remove the tubular dowel from the sleeve, remove the latch stud and remove the spring.
3. Remove the sleeve, bearing and cover.
4. Carefully tap the knob with a plastic hammer to remove it from the gear lever, and remove the sleeve, latch rod and gaiter.
5. Remove the stop ring securing the tube to the gear lever and withdraw the tube from the rubber bushes.
Replace damaged or worn parts by new parts.
TO ASSEMBLE
1. Fit the circlip, washers and rubber bushes onto the tube.
2. Fit the tube into the gear lever and fit the stop ring.
3. Fit the gaiter, sleeve and latch rod. Push the spring into the tube and screw in the latch stud to the dimension shown in the figure.
4. Fit the cover, bearing and sleeve, and the tubular dowel.
5. Press the knob onto the gear lever.
6. Fit the gear lever to the gear lever housing.
