Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Replacing door handle 

1.  Remove the interior door trim and moisture barrier.   See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair 

Working inside the door, remove the front door handle mounting screw.

2.  Working at the outside door edge, loosen the rear screw for the door handle bracket about four turns.

NOTE: On 4-door models, the rear screw for the rear door is hidden behind the weather strip.

3.  Rotate the handle to the position shown and remove the handle from the door.

CAUTION! Do not force the handle when removing it from the door. The latch mechanism inside the door could be damaged.

Installation is the reverse of removal.
