Removal

Cylinder head removed.
1. Remove-any burrs or carbon deposits from the tops of the cylinders.
2. Use lifting beam tool No. 83 94 850, or equivalent, and hook lifting cable tool No. 87 92 251, or equivalent, onto the gearbox. disconnect the
oxygen (Lambda) sensor leads.
3. Raise the car and drain the oil.

Remove the front exhaust pipe and take off the front wheels and spoiler sections.
4. Remove the end piece, steering swivel member on both sides, and the rear engine mounting.

Position a lifting table under the engine, raise the lifting table, undo the other bolts and remove the sub-frame.
